Tonight

A simple state of mind is where I find myself tonight,
Whilst I sleep in plain sight of none;
Your touch not by my side.

I reach my fingers out to the space,
Where you could be, should be.
My hand longs to find yours to cherish and to hold, giving all my love.

The crease along my sheets don't give the same feeling to me,
What I wish your hands and fingers,
Could feel like they could be.

My arms wrap around my pillow,
Wishing it was a warm and loving person to return my embrace.
My heart beating fast with thoughts of loving you.

My bed, your bed, scenic view.
My arms, your arms, lost in you,
If only forever could take a day.

My world revolves around my love,
You are the breath that fills these lungs,
I shall always choose my love over life.

To imagine a life
Without her,
A tundra of permafrost encapsulates my heart.

My heart belongs to you
And beats in time with yours,
It stops and starts as yours does.

And so it shall be…
Beyond the panoramic chaos of our world.

As we retreat into our minds,
Where we are together and anything is possible.

Together, placed in sealed parchment,
So we would have ourselves, shared to no one.

It is sealed with the stamp of our love,
That burns with a fire only we can touch, and feel its true warmth.

The parchment is lined in verse of our continual lives,
Ranging all around.

Written on sacred paper, the parchment tells a story,
Of perseverance, loyalty and above all love.

And the gazing eyes only belong to the writers of the verse,
To their eyes and actions of the words reality they are.
